To the Members of the Magnolia Villas Homeowners’ Association;
We recently held a monthly board meeting, and we would like to provide the neighborhood with a few updates:
Gate Remotes/Repair
The primary mechanism that receives the transmission to open the gate is operational, but we are finding that the range that picks up transmission is not as long as it has once been. We are looking into range extending options, particularly as individuals have continued to express concerns over operational remotes.
Please note:
I have tested a number of remotes that have been thought to not be working; in all instances proximity has been the primary issue. I you are having issues with your gate remote, I would suggest pressing and holding your remote button near the keypad box and continuing to move forward toward the gate.
Fence Repair
Due to age and significant storms, the perimeter fences that run parallel to Bosque are both in need of significant structural repair. We had both fence lines quoted and the recommendation made was that the full fence be replaced.
The board has voted to move forward with the quoted replacements.
We recognize this is a major expense for our neighborhood, but we believe this is the right time to make these replacements. These replacements will be paid out of our reserve funds and still leave a healthy reserve should we have other unforeseen repairs that are necessary.
The fence line is being marked and work should be set to begin next week.
Lawn Maintenance
We have heard positive commentary about the work from Turfmasters! They have been servicing weekly on Tuesdays, and have our sprinkler systems fully operational at this time.
Road Repair from C.O.W.
We spoke with the City of Waco regarding the road repair on Drake Ct. and they were unable to confirm a timeline of repair. They shared that regulations for repairs have changed in recent weeks, and there are still some unclear processes in this change. It is “at the top of their list,” and we will continue to check in on this repair with them until it has been completed. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes.
Upcoming Change to Board
The final meeting of the current board will take place on July 9th at 7 p.m. Adam Gilliland, president, will step out his role at the conclusion of this meeting due to their upcoming move from Magnolia Villas. At this meeting, the remaining board members will vote on the following proposal:
Mark Howard, change from Treasurer to President - three year term
John Martin, join board as Treasurer - one year term
Joel Burns, remain Secretary - two year term
*terms are set by the date of the annual meeting
